What it is
LVS (Latvijas standarts) is Latvia’s national standards body and the Latvian member of the European organisation CEN and the international body ISO. It publishes Latvian standards (LVS) and the Latvian adoptions of European (EN) and international standards.

Conformity in practice means applying the right standard, and LVS is where you access the EN standards your product needs for the Latvian market. A standard’s legal weight comes from being harmonised (cited in the Official Journal) for the applicable legislation.
