What it is
Cradle to Cradle Certified is an international product certification for circularity and material health, assessing products across categories such as material health, product circularity, clean air and climate, water, and social fairness.
Why it matters for compliance
As the EU’s ecodesign agenda (the ESPR) pushes durability, recyclability and recycled content, a recognised circularity certification provides verifiable evidence for sustainability claims and design choices. It supports — and signals readiness for — the direction of EU product policy.
How to use it

- Combine with chemical evidence (REACH) for the full material picture.
Good to know
Certification supports a claim; the legal ecodesign and Digital Product Passport duties under the ESPR will stand on their own as they roll out.
