What it is
BDS (the Bulgarian Institute for Standardization) is Bulgaria’s national standards body and the Bulgarian member of the European organisation CEN and the international body ISO. It publishes Bulgarian standards (BDS) and the Bulgarian adoptions of European (EN) and international standards.

Conformity in practice means applying the right standard, and BDS is where you access the EN standards your product needs for the Bulgarian market. A standard’s legal weight comes from being harmonised (cited in the Official Journal) for the applicable legislation.
