What it is
Austrian Standards International (ASI) is Austria’s national standards body and the Austrian member of the European organisation CEN and the international body ISO. It develops Austrian standards (ÖNORM) and publishes the Austrian adoptions of European (EN) and international standards.
Why it matters for compliance
Conformity in practice means applying the right standard, and Austrian Standards is where you access and buy the EN standards your product needs for the Austrian market. The legal weight comes from a standard being harmonised (cited in the Official Journal) for your legislation.

Good to know
