What it is
ILNAS (Institut luxembourgeois de la normalisation, de l’accréditation, de la sécurité et qualité des produits et services) is Luxembourg’s body for standardisation, accreditation, and product safety and quality. It is Luxembourg’s national standards member and also carries out market surveillance of products on the Luxembourg market, through its Portail-Qualité.
Why it matters for compliance
For products sold in Luxembourg, ILNAS is both where you access the EN standards behind conformity and the authority that can check products and act on non-compliant ones. A standard’s legal weight comes from being harmonised (cited in the Official Journal) for the applicable legislation.
How to use it
- Access the relevant EN standards for your product via ILNAS.
- Keep your technical file and DoC ready for a market-surveillance request.
- Treat ILNAS as the single Luxembourg contact for both standards and product surveillance.
Good to know
Luxembourg combines functions many Member States split across separate bodies, so ILNAS is a one-stop authority for standards, accreditation and product market surveillance.
