It supports the German product-safety system and the coordination of market surveillance, hosts the national Safety Gate contact point, and maintains product-safety information. It is also Germany’s competent authority for REACH and CLP: its Federal Office for Chemicals (Bundesstelle für Chemikalien, BfC) runs the national REACH-CLP-Biocides Helpdesk.
