Free EU product compliance checker
Pick a product type, tick its characteristics and the documentation you already have, and see which EU regulations are likely to apply and where the documentation looks thin. Indicative, runs in your browser, no account needed.
What the checker covers
The checker takes three things about your product: the product type (electronics, toys, medical devices, cosmetics, machinery, textiles, furniture, PPE, batteries or packaging), its characteristics (electrical parts, wireless or radio function, a battery, use by children, food or skin contact, wood) and the documentation you already hold: CE marking, a Declaration of Conformity, a technical file with a risk assessment, test reports and a declaration of materials and substances.
From that it maps the product to the regulation families in its table: the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR), the Low Voltage Directive (LVD), EMC, the Radio Equipment Directive (RED), RoHS, WEEE, the Toy Safety Directive, the Batteries Regulation, the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) and the Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), plus the medical-device, machinery, PPE, cosmetics, food-contact and textile-labelling rules, and shows what is ready, what needs attention and what is missing.
The result is indicative. The checker runs in your browser with a fixed rule table, stores nothing and needs no account. The full validation, with a gap list and generated documentation per product, runs in the Conphora platform.
This is an indicative self-assessment for guidance only and is not a legal conformity statement. A full Conphora validation cross-checks your technical file, harmonised standards and market-specific obligations.
How it works
-
Describe the product
Choose the product type, tick its characteristics and list the materials and substances it contains. A sample product is pre-filled so you can see a result straight away.
-
Tick the documentation you have
CE marking, Declaration of Conformity, test reports and the technical file with its risk assessment. Leave unticked what you do not have yet.
-
Read the result
The checker lists the regulations likely to apply, a status and next action per regulation, and a documentation readiness score. Change any field and it re-runs instantly.
Frequently asked questions
Which EU regulations apply to my product?
It depends on the product type and its characteristics. Almost every consumer product falls under the General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR). Electrical products add the Low Voltage Directive, EMC, RoHS and WEEE; wireless products add the Radio Equipment Directive; toys the Toy Safety Directive; anything with a battery the Batteries Regulation; packaged products the PPWR. The checker gives you that first list in seconds; the regulation guides explain each act.
Do I need CE marking?
Only if the product falls under at least one EU act that requires it, for example the Low Voltage Directive, EMC, the Radio Equipment Directive, the Toy Safety Directive, the Machinery Regulation, the PPE Regulation or the Medical Devices Regulation. GPSR, RoHS or packaging obligations do not on their own require CE marking. See CE marking in the glossary.
What is a Declaration of Conformity?
A document in which the manufacturer, or its authorised representative, declares that the product meets every EU act that applies to it and takes responsibility for that. It is required for CE-marked products, lists the acts and harmonised standards used, and is backed by the technical file. See Declaration of Conformity in the glossary.
Is this a legal conformity assessment?
No. The checker is an indicative self-assessment based on a fixed table of product types and regulations. It does not read your documents, test the product or check harmonised standards, and its result is not a conformity statement. A conformity assessment follows the procedure each act prescribes; the Conphora platform validates products against the regulations that actually apply.
Is the compliance checker free?
Yes. It runs in your browser, needs no account and stores nothing. The Conphora platform, where the full validation runs, is part of the subscription; see plans and pricing.
What happens after the check?
Nothing is sent or saved. Use the result as a starting list: read the guide for each regulation it names, then close the gaps in your documentation. When you want every product validated against the regulations that actually apply, with the gap list and the documentation generated, the Conphora platform does that as part of the subscription; see plans and pricing.
