Transcript
The Recreational Craft Directive governs the design, construction and placing on the market of pleasure boats and personal watercraft across the EU.
It applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors and private importers of craft between 2.5 and 24 metres, personal watercraft, their propulsion engines and certain components, each craft built to a design category A to D.
It has applied since 18 January 2016, replacing Directive 94/25/EC, through the national law of each member state, with transitional arrangements for the old regime.
You meet the essential requirements, check exhaust and noise limits, complete the conformity module with a notified body where required, fit the Craft Identification Number and builder's plate, apply CE marking with an EU declaration of conformity and an owner's manual, and arrange post-construction assessment for imports without a responsible manufacturer.
Conphora maps your craft, engines and components against RCD, flags gaps in design category, conformity assessment, emissions, marking and documentation, and alerts you when the rules change.
