Transcript
The Batteries Regulation governs the whole life of a battery placed on the EU market, from raw materials and design to collection and recycling.
It applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors and producers with extended producer responsibility, and to every battery category: portable, light means of transport, industrial, electric vehicle and vehicle starter batteries.
The bulk of it applies from 18 February 2024, replacing the old Batteries Directive; many duties then phase in by category, and the digital battery passport arrives from 2027.
Depending on your category you need conformity assessment and CE marking, a carbon-footprint declaration, documented recycled content, labelling with a QR code and the battery passport, supply-chain due diligence, and producer registration for collection and recycling.
Conphora maps your batteries against the Regulation, flags gaps in carbon footprint, recycled content, labelling, the passport, due diligence and producer duties, and alerts you as each phased obligation takes effect.
