Transcript
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive is the EU's foundational law for the design, composition and end of life of packaging.
It applies to packaging manufacturers, brand owners who fill or pack, importers, distributors and retailers, for sales, grouped and transport packaging in every material.
Adopted in 1994 and tightened in 2004 and 2018, it is progressively replaced by the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which applies from 12 August 2026 directly in every member state.
You map every packaging type by material and weight, meet the essential requirements, keep the four heavy metals at or below 100 parts per million combined, register, report and pay fees in each national producer responsibility scheme, apply the material marking, and prepare for the new Regulation.
Conphora maps your packaging against the Directive and its national transpositions, flags gaps in the essential requirements, heavy-metal limits, marking and registration, and alerts you as the Regulation takes over.
