Transcript
The PPE Regulation governs equipment designed to protect people against health and safety risks: helmets, safety footwear, gloves, respiratory and fall protection, for professional and private use alike.
It applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors and authorised representatives. PPE designed for the armed forces or for maintaining order is excluded.
It has applied since 21 April 2018, when it replaced the old PPE Directive, and as a regulation it applies directly in every member state.
The risk category decides the route: Category I is self-certified, Category II needs EU type-examination by a notified body, Category III adds ongoing production checks. All need technical documentation for ten years, an EU declaration of conformity, CE marking and traceability.
Conphora maps your PPE against the Regulation, flags gaps in categorisation, conformity assessment, documentation, CE marking and traceability, and alerts you when the rules change.
