Transcript
The POPs Regulation prohibits or severely restricts chemicals that persist in the environment, build up in living tissue and are toxic: certain flame retardants, PFOA, chlorinated paraffins, old pesticides, PCBs and dioxins.
It applies to manufacturers, importers, distributors, downstream users and waste operators, and it reaches substances on their own, in mixtures and in articles such as textiles, electronics, plastics and treated products.
It implements the Stockholm Convention: Regulation 2019/1021 entered into force on 15 July 2019, replacing Regulation 850/2004, and its annexes are updated regularly as substances are added and limits revised.
You map the products that could contain a listed substance, collect supplier declarations and test reports against the concentration and trace limits, check the current annexes, design the substances out, and make sure waste above the limit is destroyed rather than recycled.
Conphora maps your products against the prohibited and restricted lists, flags where a listed substance could exceed a limit, keeps the evidence, and alerts you when the annexes change.
