Transcript
The Pressure Equipment Directive governs the design, manufacture and conformity assessment of equipment that holds pressure, scaling its demands to the hazard.
It applies to manufacturers, authorised representatives, importers and distributors of vessels, piping, safety and pressure accessories and assemblies above 0.5 bar. Simple vessels fall under SPVD and transportable equipment under TPED.
The recast Directive has applied since 19 July 2016, when it replaced Directive 97/23/EC; as a directive it reaches you through national law.
You classify the equipment into Category I to IV, meet the essential safety requirements, complete the conformity module for that category with a notified body where required, assess assemblies as a whole, keep technical documentation, and draw up an EU declaration of conformity with CE marking.
Conphora maps your equipment against PED, helps confirm the category, the essential safety requirements and the right conformity route, and alerts you when the rules change.
