Transcript
The Non-Automatic Weighing Instruments Directive regulates scales when their result has legal or economic consequences, such as setting a price or settling a transaction.
It applies to manufacturers, authorised representatives, importers and distributors, and only for regulated uses: intended use decides whether the full regime applies.
A compliant instrument carries the CE marking, the M metrology marking and the green metrology label; it has an accuracy class from I to IIII, and it reaches the market through type examination plus a production module, or unit verification, with a notified body.
You design to the essential metrological requirements, set the accuracy class, complete the conformity module with a notified body, keep technical documentation with an EU declaration of conformity, apply the markings and the notified body number, and keep instruments in regulated use verified nationally.
Conphora maps your weighing instruments against NAWI, flags gaps in accuracy class, conformity assessment, the declaration and the markings, and alerts you when the rules change.
