The EMC Directive makes electrical and electronic equipment behave electromagnetically: it must not disturb other equipment, and it must keep working when disturbed itself.

It applies to manufacturers, importers and distributors of apparatus with an electromagnetic function and, under a lighter regime, to fixed installations. Radio equipment is covered by RED instead.

The Directive has applied since 20 April 2016, replacing Directive 2004/108/EC; as a directive, enforcement and penalties are set nationally.

You need the harmonised emission and immunity standards, an EMC assessment with test evidence in the technical documentation, internal production control without a notified body, and an EU declaration of conformity with CE marking.

Conphora maps your products against the EMC Directive, flags gaps in standards, documentation, the declaration and CE marking, and alerts you when the rules change.
