The Energy Labelling Regulation puts the A to G energy label on products and governs how it is produced, registered and displayed.
It applies to suppliers, the EU manufacturer, authorised representative or importer, and to dealers who sell or display the products. It covers energy-related products with a delegated regulation, not second-hand goods or vehicles.
It has applied since 1 August 2017, replacing the old Directive and creating the EPREL database; the rescaled A to G labels have appeared group by group since 2021.
You find the delegated regulation for your product, produce the label and product information sheet for every model, keep technical documentation for the declared class, register each model in EPREL before sale, supply labels to dealers, and reference the class in advertising.
