Transcript
The Cosmetics Regulation governs the safety, composition, labelling and marketing of every cosmetic product on the EU market, and cosmetics carry no CE marking: lawful sale rests on a chain of named obligations.
It applies to the Responsible Person, manufacturers, importers and distributors, for finished cosmetic products for consumers and professionals alike.
Three pillars: a Responsible Person established in the EU and named on the label, notification through the CPNP portal before sale, and the annexes that list prohibited and restricted substances and the positive lists for colorants, preservatives and UV filters.
You keep a Product Information File for ten years, commission a safety assessment and report, check the formula against the annexes, notify the product in the CPNP, label it with the INCI list, durability and warnings, manufacture to GMP, avoid animal testing, and report serious undesirable effects.
Conphora maps your cosmetic products against the Regulation, flags gaps in the Responsible Person, the Product Information File, the safety assessment, notification and labelling, and alerts you when the annexes change.
