Transcript
The Aerosol Dispensers Directive is the EU's harmonised law for how aerosols are built, filled, tested and marked, managing a pressurised container and, often, a flammable propellant at once.
It applies to fillers and manufacturers, the person responsible for marketing, importers, distributors and retailers of non-reusable metal, glass or plastic containers holding gas under pressure with a release device.
Adopted in 1975 and amended since, notably to add a flammability classification and its hazard labelling, it reaches you through national law, and conforming dispensers carry the inverted-epsilon conformity mark.
You apply the construction, capacity, pressure and filling-ratio rules for your container material, carry out pressure and final testing, classify the contents for flammability and label accordingly, affix the conformity mark, and mark the mandatory particulars legibly and indelibly.
Conphora maps your aerosol products against the Directive, flags gaps in construction rules, testing, flammability classification, the conformity mark and the particulars, and alerts you when it is amended.
